Just out of a complete refurbishment, from a rust free and mechanically perfect original vehicle, it is stunning in fresh Jaguar "Fern Gray" (a grayish olive green) with white roof and wheels, and a completely reupholstered interior in two-tone partial leather front and rear.  Rust free, straight, and beautiful from every angle, with classic appeal and tasteful updates, it has fantastic curb appeal.

With low original miles, this truck hails from arguably the most arid region in all of Spain, and is as rust free as you will ever see a classic Land Rover.  The bodywork is straight and free of filler, and the paintwork is recently applied to a good standard.  Panel gaps are excellent and all doors, latches and locks close securely and work as original.  The updated grille and winch-ready front bumper give an aggressive look to the front end, and the short rear bumpers and LED lighting bring the look and after-dark performance up to modern standards.

Inside the twin front seats are all new, with new foams and upholstery in a combination of heavy "saddle" leather on bolsters and tan, quilted vinyl on the seating surfaces.  Subtle green piping picks up the exterior body color.  The dashboard and door panels are in very good original condition, and the original center console is intact and in very good shape, with a tweed fabric covering.  The four individually-folding rear jump seats have been upholstered to match and can be folded up individually when not in use, or removed entirely for more cargo room.  All the gauges and lights and switches work as original, and everything has a lovely combination of original patina and refreshed details.

Underneath, and the frame is as straight and clean as you'll find.  No dents or scratches to the longitudinals, and no rust anywhere.  Not in the frame, crossmembers, pickup points, bulkheads, floors or doors.

Clean and classic, it has fantastic curb appeal and looks good from every angle.

These late Santanas are wonderful drivers.  With the robust torque and legendary reliability of the Defender "12J" diesel, coupled with the Defender 5-speed manual transmission, they are simple to operate, rugged, and flexible in daily use.  This example, freshly serviced and with excellent compression, runs and drives as nicely as any we have had, and doesn't put a foot wrong.

The engine fires quickly with very little warming of the glow plugs needed, and idles as smoothly and calmly as it did brand new.  With a broad swell or torque and standard gearing, it's spritely off the line and has no difficulty keeping up with modern traffic, and will cruise at 65 mph all day long, making it fully highway capable.  The gearchange is slick and positive, as it should be, and the clutch is strong with correct engagement.  Off road, 4WD operates smoothly, and low-range in the 2-speed transfer case engages with similar ease, allowing the type of tough-terrain capability that made the Land Rover name famous in the harshest environments on the planet.  Take it where you want to - to the mountains, into the sand, through the mud - it'll get you there and back again, just as Land Rovers always have.

The brakes work perfectly with good feel and no noise, vibration or pulling, and the power steering is light and direct with no undue free play.  it's a truck that doesn't force you to make some of the compromises of its earlier "Series" cousins, but it still packs the muscle and toughness to power through anything you are ever likely to encounter.  Easy to maintain and service, a good, sorted Land Rover is a very easy vehicle to use daily.

Mechanically excellent, low mileage and a fantastic driver, it is ready to drive and enjoy every day, on road or off.
